Online works OK!! (SATO)

 This is the current condition of our insectarium in the lab. Several species of freshwater snails, and fishes, and some aphid also are what we are maintaining.

現在の研究室の、これは飼育室の様子です。アブラムシから貝まで、まぁいろいろいるんですよ。


Because every day one of the members visit here to check the condition and report by LINE. We have seminars, meetings, and every such meeting activity online. Before the covid, I was reluctant for online meeting, but nowadays, I really prefer this much. This is our meeting yesterday, you see there Earnest from Africa, and he was taking a walk to another place for his work.

当初はオンラインが嫌だったんだけど、今はむしろ好きです。便利。今は研究室のゼミもこんな感じで、海外から日本にこれないでいる人もいるから、まぁ多様で面白いですよ。アフリカの人で、カメルーンから参加してるアーネスト、どこ歩いてるんだ？？
 


I asked him how far to get to the field for hyena, and the answer was too far, it would take 5 hours. Because of online, I have not been to any other countries, and it is unusual!! I visited too many countries in the last year, starting from Vietnam, then China, Indonesia, Germany, Spain, Cameroon. Well, but because of this situation today, I can talk free to anyone in any place, and anytime, and amazingly no cost. We are very OK to adapt to the situation, and enjoy really!! 

アーネストは答えます。いやー仕事の途中で、ちょい歩いてんだ。だってさ。はっはは、すごいとこ歩いてるなぁ、ハイエナいんの？。。。。。。。そんなのいないよー、5時間くらいかかる、ってさ。いいなー、ハイエナのとこまで5時間でいけるなんて、やっぱりアフリカはスゴイ。。。。例えば鶴岡だと5時間歩くとどうだろう、、、羽黒山を超えて向こう側に行けるかもな。まぁ色々楽しみましょう！！

Locust as a source of food and feed (Rahima)

I came across a pack of roasted locusts at the store the other day and decided to check their nutritional value and study a bit more about them. Locusts are a type of insect from the family Acrididae . They are known to swarm in huge numbers and can travel great distances, causing considerable damage to crops. However, in many African, Middle Eastern, and Asian countries, locusts are considered a delicacy and eaten in abundance. Locusts are an excellent source of protein and contain a variety of fatty acids and minerals. Although not considered palatable by most Americans and Europeans, locusts are an important food source in many other countries.   According to the book "Insects" by Steve Parker, species of locusts vary in protein content from about 50 percent of dry weight to almost 60 percent, making them denser in protein than cows . Full vaccination（Sagae）

We some of the lab members had second vaccination at university. It was so hard situation for me because of side effects. I had heard some news that the side effects of the second vaccine are more serious. It was TRUE. The night after the vaccine, started to increase my body temperature. At midnight temperature already reached 38.5 ℃. And also my bone has pain and "Moderna arm". I could only lay on the bed the whole day by agony. My fever continues till next midnight. I thought my fever had gone down, but then I started to have terrible headaches. Again I spent the time on the bed the whole day. Finally, I recovered fully after 60 hours of vaccination. It was the worst experience in 2021 at least. I wish our painfulness contributes to making the situation better. 大学で二回目のワクチン接種を受けました。結論から言うと、副反応が本当きつかったです。二回目は一回目より副反応がきついと聞いていましたが、その通りです。接種日の夜から熱が上がり始めて、夜中には38.5℃に達しました。きつすぎてベッドに横になる事しかできません。全身の関節は痛むし、モデルナアームも発症しています。次の夜中は明朝まで高熱は続きました。熱が下がったと思ったら次はひどい頭痛です。またベットから動けず一日を過ごします。最終的
