TOEIC exam and Virus situation(Sagae)

We some of the lab member taken TOEIC exam last weekend in Kojirakawa campus. We have to take this exam to show English skills when job hunting or get some opportunity, like study abroad. In Japanese society, the score of TOEIC is so important. 

By the way, I went to the Kkojirakawa campus to take this exam. I felt changing which the situation related to the coronavirus. I mean, it was not so tightly some regulation like keeping distance or measurement body temperature. Looking back, the exam in May had been canceled due to the coronavirus situation. I think in the past half year the atmosphere of society was changing surely. I can not determine this change is good or not for society or for us. Of course, there is a possibility to make an outbreak again. But this is true that all people wish to come back to normal life as sooner as possible very much.


先週末数人のラボメンバーと小白川キャンパスでTOEICを受けてきました。就活や留学時に英語力の指標としてTOEICは必須になっており現在日本の社会ではそのスコアは非常に重要な意味をもちます。

テスト開催時の小白川キャンパスの様子についてなのですが、コロナに関する諸々の状況は変わってきているなと感じました。今回テスト会場では、ソーシャルディスタンスを保つことや体温を測り検疫するなどの措置はありませんでした。思い返すと5月に行われるはずだった試験は規制とともに開催どころか中止になってます。この半年で社会のコロナに対する雰囲気は確実に変わったと思います。これが良いか悪いか自分は断定できませんが、皆全員出来るだけ早く早く普通の生活に戻りたいと強く感じている、という事は言えると思います。

Locust as a source of food and feed (Rahima)

I came across a pack of roasted locusts at the store the other day and decided to check their nutritional value and study a bit more about them. Locusts are a type of insect from the family Acrididae . They are known to swarm in huge numbers and can travel great distances, causing considerable damage to crops. However, in many African, Middle Eastern, and Asian countries, locusts are considered a delicacy and eaten in abundance. Locusts are an excellent source of protein and contain a variety of fatty acids and minerals. Although not considered palatable by most Americans and Europeans, locusts are an important food source in many other countries.   According to the book "Insects" by Steve Parker, species of locusts vary in protein content from about 50 percent of dry weight to almost 60 percent, making them denser in protein than cows . Full vaccination（Sagae）

We some of the lab members had second vaccination at university. It was so hard situation for me because of side effects. I had heard some news that the side effects of the second vaccine are more serious. It was TRUE. The night after the vaccine, started to increase my body temperature. At midnight temperature already reached 38.5 ℃. And also my bone has pain and "Moderna arm". I could only lay on the bed the whole day by agony. My fever continues till next midnight. I thought my fever had gone down, but then I started to have terrible headaches. Again I spent the time on the bed the whole day. Finally, I recovered fully after 60 hours of vaccination. It was the worst experience in 2021 at least. I wish our painfulness contributes to making the situation better. 大学で二回目のワクチン接種を受けました。結論から言うと、副反応が本当きつかったです。二回目は一回目より副反応がきついと聞いていましたが、その通りです。接種日の夜から熱が上がり始めて、夜中には38.5℃に達しました。きつすぎてベッドに横になる事しかできません。全身の関節は痛むし、モデルナアームも発症しています。次の夜中は明朝まで高熱は続きました。熱が下がったと思ったら次はひどい頭痛です。またベットから動けず一日を過ごします。最終的
