Abstract .
Modern agriculture is dependent on pesticides and
other agricultural inputs. These chemicals while helping to take better
agricultural yields have a negative impact on the environment, biodiversity and
human health, the development of sustainable agriculture therefore requires an
integrated management of their use in reducing the risk by Application
precautions.
This study
aims to assess the risks associated with bad practice and uncontrolled use of
pesticides on tomato production during the first phase. Thereafter it is an
assessment of the sanitary quality of tomatoes treated with pesticides and sold
in our markets.
Thus, a
survey was conducted among 40 tomato growers in the area Ebolowa II on how to
use pesticides. Also, on survey of 50 trader’s tomatoes to enjoy the health
qualities of tomato ready to be consumed.
The results
show that good agricultural practices in pesticide use are not met. Gardeners
use pesticides improperly and uncontrolled due to a lack of supervision and
training. Therefore, at the market there is a presence of residues after a
visual inspection.
A situation
that has already been presented and justifying the presence of higher-than-normal
residues SONCHEU (2002). Hence it follows in fact the risk of poisoning of
producers, consumers and environmental pollution.
