Cold winter(Ishikawa)

 

It is mid-December, finally started snowing in Tsuruoka city. I am planning to research the situation in the canal in the field in front of the university during winter. The other days, I did pre-research in the canal in snowing and coldness told on my body. Today also, it was snowing a lot and I cleaned the snow covering greenhouse. It was very cold! But we have to remove the snow on the greenhouse. Because roof of greenhouse is broken if a lot of snow accumulates. By the way, this time is the last of my post this year. This year flew by and there are only two weeks in this year. In this laboratory, I can experience many things. Today, I did presentation in Sato sensei lecture and participated in international seminar held by foreign university online. But my ability is still low. I will study harder next year and also want to speak English well.

12月の中旬になり、鶴岡ではとうとう雪が降り始めました。これから、大学の圃場にある水路内の冬季の状況を調査する予定でいます。つい先日には雪が降る中予備調査を行ったのですが、手が凍りつきそうなほど寒くとてもこたえました。今日も朝にかなりの雪が降り温室の雪かきを行いました。とても寒かったです！しかし温室に積もった雪は取り除かなければいけません。なぜなら温室の屋根に雪がたくさん積もると屋根が壊れてしまうからです。ところで今年の自分の投稿は今回が最後です。あっという間に時が過ぎ、気づけば今年も残り2週間となりました。動物生態学研究室では、たくさんの経験をさせていただきました。今日は佐藤先生の授業でプレゼンテーションをさせてもらい、その後は海外の大学主催の国際的なセミナーにオンラインで参加しました。しかし自分の能力はまだまだです。来年はもっとたくさん勉強して、英語も流暢に喋れるようになりたいです。

Locust as a source of food and feed (Rahima)

I came across a pack of roasted locusts at the store the other day and decided to check their nutritional value and study a bit more about them. Locusts are a type of insect from the family Acrididae . They are known to swarm in huge numbers and can travel great distances, causing considerable damage to crops. However, in many African, Middle Eastern, and Asian countries, locusts are considered a delicacy and eaten in abundance. Locusts are an excellent source of protein and contain a variety of fatty acids and minerals. Although not considered palatable by most Americans and Europeans, locusts are an important food source in many other countries.   According to the book "Insects" by Steve Parker, species of locusts vary in protein content from about 50 percent of dry weight to almost 60 percent, making them denser in protein than cows . Full vaccination（Sagae）

We some of the lab members had second vaccination at university. It was so hard situation for me because of side effects. I had heard some news that the side effects of the second vaccine are more serious. It was TRUE. The night after the vaccine, started to increase my body temperature. At midnight temperature already reached 38.5 ℃. And also my bone has pain and "Moderna arm". I could only lay on the bed the whole day by agony. My fever continues till next midnight. I thought my fever had gone down, but then I started to have terrible headaches. Again I spent the time on the bed the whole day. Finally, I recovered fully after 60 hours of vaccination. It was the worst experience in 2021 at least. I wish our painfulness contributes to making the situation better. 大学で二回目のワクチン接種を受けました。結論から言うと、副反応が本当きつかったです。二回目は一回目より副反応がきついと聞いていましたが、その通りです。接種日の夜から熱が上がり始めて、夜中には38.5℃に達しました。きつすぎてベッドに横になる事しかできません。全身の関節は痛むし、モデルナアームも発症しています。次の夜中は明朝まで高熱は続きました。熱が下がったと思ったら次はひどい頭痛です。またベットから動けず一日を過ごします。最終的
