Aquatic creatures in winter season (Ishikawa)

 

I joined Arya san field activity for his experiment on last Friday and today. Today, we went to field in Yutagawa and Oyama to collect snails such as mud snails and kawanina. First, we went to Yutagawa, but no creatures in there we could check. Then we went to Oyama we went last Friday. We could found aquatic creatures like last Friday, but we could collect few snails because it is difficult to collect them due to snow and strong wind. We will go to Oyama again when weather is fine. Today was so cold that my hands and foots were almost frozen. In these activities, we could find not only snails but also loaches and spider. I was impressed that these creatures survive in canal in such a very cold condition.

先週の金曜日からアリヤさんの実験の手伝いをしています。カワニナやタニシといった巻貝類を採集するために今日は湯田川と大山地域の水路に行きました。最初に湯田川に行ったのですが採集できそうなところには水生生物がいませんでした。その次に先週の金曜日にも行った、大山地域の水田に行きました。先週同様水生生物が見られたのですが、今日はあいにくの雪と強風で採集が非常に困難で、わずかな数の巻貝しか採集できませんでした。また天気の良い日にもう一度大山の水路に行く予定です。それにしても今日は非常に寒かったです。作業中は手足が凍りそうでした。これまでの採集で、巻貝だけでなく、ドジョウやクモも見つけました。私は彼らがこの極寒の中でも水路内で生きていることに感服します。

Locust as a source of food and feed (Rahima)

I came across a pack of roasted locusts at the store the other day and decided to check their nutritional value and study a bit more about them. Locusts are a type of insect from the family Acrididae . They are known to swarm in huge numbers and can travel great distances, causing considerable damage to crops. However, in many African, Middle Eastern, and Asian countries, locusts are considered a delicacy and eaten in abundance. Locusts are an excellent source of protein and contain a variety of fatty acids and minerals. Although not considered palatable by most Americans and Europeans, locusts are an important food source in many other countries.   According to the book "Insects" by Steve Parker, species of locusts vary in protein content from about 50 percent of dry weight to almost 60 percent, making them denser in protein than cows . Full vaccination（Sagae）

We some of the lab members had second vaccination at university. It was so hard situation for me because of side effects. I had heard some news that the side effects of the second vaccine are more serious. It was TRUE. The night after the vaccine, started to increase my body temperature. At midnight temperature already reached 38.5 ℃. And also my bone has pain and "Moderna arm". I could only lay on the bed the whole day by agony. My fever continues till next midnight. I thought my fever had gone down, but then I started to have terrible headaches. Again I spent the time on the bed the whole day. Finally, I recovered fully after 60 hours of vaccination. It was the worst experience in 2021 at least. I wish our painfulness contributes to making the situation better. 大学で二回目のワクチン接種を受けました。結論から言うと、副反応が本当きつかったです。二回目は一回目より副反応がきついと聞いていましたが、その通りです。接種日の夜から熱が上がり始めて、夜中には38.5℃に達しました。きつすぎてベッドに横になる事しかできません。全身の関節は痛むし、モデルナアームも発症しています。次の夜中は明朝まで高熱は続きました。熱が下がったと思ったら次はひどい頭痛です。またベットから動けず一日を過ごします。最終的
