Living with the seasons in Tsuruoka(Sagae)

There is a place where you can clearly feel the spring in Tsuruoka.  flowers of some species bloom which called "The spring ephemeral" and butterflies are flying well. This place is very close to our research field, and I was able to see it. This is a place that makes Tsuruoka very attractive. Despite the beauty of this place, many students of agriculture leave Tsuruoka without knowing about it. Further, they are saying that it is a boring place with nothing. It is important to feel and enjoy the changing seasons. This is the key to a fulfilling life in Tsuruoka.

鶴岡の春を鮮明に感じる事ができる場所があります。スプリングエフェメラルと言われる春にしか咲かない花が咲き乱れ、蝶が飛び回ります。これは私たちが調査フィールドにしている場所のすぐ近くにあり、ついでに見てくることができました。鶴岡の魅力はまさにこのような場所につまっています。このような美しい場所があるにもかかわらず、多くの農学部生はこれを知らずに鶴岡を去っていくのが現状です。そればかりか鶴岡は何もないつまらない場所だともまで言われます。移り行く季節を感じ楽しめる事。充実した鶴岡ライフを送れるかどうかはここにかかっていると言えるでしょう。

Locust as a source of food and feed (Rahima)

I came across a pack of roasted locusts at the store the other day and decided to check their nutritional value and study a bit more about them. Locusts are a type of insect from the family Acrididae . They are known to swarm in huge numbers and can travel great distances, causing considerable damage to crops. However, in many African, Middle Eastern, and Asian countries, locusts are considered a delicacy and eaten in abundance. Locusts are an excellent source of protein and contain a variety of fatty acids and minerals. Although not considered palatable by most Americans and Europeans, locusts are an important food source in many other countries.   According to the book "Insects" by Steve Parker, species of locusts vary in protein content from about 50 percent of dry weight to almost 60 percent, making them denser in protein than cows . Full vaccination（Sagae）

We some of the lab members had second vaccination at university. It was so hard situation for me because of side effects. I had heard some news that the side effects of the second vaccine are more serious. It was TRUE. The night after the vaccine, started to increase my body temperature. At midnight temperature already reached 38.5 ℃. And also my bone has pain and "Moderna arm". I could only lay on the bed the whole day by agony. My fever continues till next midnight. I thought my fever had gone down, but then I started to have terrible headaches. Again I spent the time on the bed the whole day. Finally, I recovered fully after 60 hours of vaccination. It was the worst experience in 2021 at least. I wish our painfulness contributes to making the situation better. 大学で二回目のワクチン接種を受けました。結論から言うと、副反応が本当きつかったです。二回目は一回目より副反応がきついと聞いていましたが、その通りです。接種日の夜から熱が上がり始めて、夜中には38.5℃に達しました。きつすぎてベッドに横になる事しかできません。全身の関節は痛むし、モデルナアームも発症しています。次の夜中は明朝まで高熱は続きました。熱が下がったと思ったら次はひどい頭痛です。またベットから動けず一日を過ごします。最終的
