Practice of English Conversation (Kajiyama)

   We B3 students started to study not only chili seedling but also English conversation. Today I will introduce what we do for studying English.

   I and B4 students (from Japan) usually have discussion with M2 student (from Indonesia). We have ever discussed about “Environmental Problem from Oil Palm plantation” or “What do you want to do, if you become a prime minister” and so on.

   Another B3 student also study English with M2 student. In their training, she tells opinions about news she read. After that learning about vocabulary and grammar.

   I do not get used to a lab life with English yet. But I will study English hard to make conversation with international students.


　私たち、学部３年生は、トウガラシの実験だけでなく、英会話の練習も始めました。今日は、英語を学ぶためにしていることを紹介したいと思います。

　私と学部４年生は、修士２年生の留学生とディスカッションをしています。今までに、「油ヤシによる環境問題」や「総理大臣になったらどのような政策を行いたいか」などについて話し合いました。

　もう１人の学部３年生も、修士２年生と英語を勉強しています。練習の内容は、彼女が読んだニュースについての意見を発表し、その後語彙や文法について勉強することです。

　私はまだ、英語を使った研究室での生活に慣れていません。しかし、留学生と会話するために英語を一生懸命勉強したいと思います。

Locust as a source of food and feed (Rahima)

I came across a pack of roasted locusts at the store the other day and decided to check their nutritional value and study a bit more about them. Locusts are a type of insect from the family Acrididae . They are known to swarm in huge numbers and can travel great distances, causing considerable damage to crops. However, in many African, Middle Eastern, and Asian countries, locusts are considered a delicacy and eaten in abundance. Locusts are an excellent source of protein and contain a variety of fatty acids and minerals. Although not considered palatable by most Americans and Europeans, locusts are an important food source in many other countries.   According to the book "Insects" by Steve Parker, species of locusts vary in protein content from about 50 percent of dry weight to almost 60 percent, making them denser in protein than cows . Full vaccination（Sagae）

We some of the lab members had second vaccination at university. It was so hard situation for me because of side effects. I had heard some news that the side effects of the second vaccine are more serious. It was TRUE. The night after the vaccine, started to increase my body temperature. At midnight temperature already reached 38.5 ℃. And also my bone has pain and "Moderna arm". I could only lay on the bed the whole day by agony. My fever continues till next midnight. I thought my fever had gone down, but then I started to have terrible headaches. Again I spent the time on the bed the whole day. Finally, I recovered fully after 60 hours of vaccination. It was the worst experience in 2021 at least. I wish our painfulness contributes to making the situation better. 大学で二回目のワクチン接種を受けました。結論から言うと、副反応が本当きつかったです。二回目は一回目より副反応がきついと聞いていましたが、その通りです。接種日の夜から熱が上がり始めて、夜中には38.5℃に達しました。きつすぎてベッドに横になる事しかできません。全身の関節は痛むし、モデルナアームも発症しています。次の夜中は明朝まで高熱は続きました。熱が下がったと思ったら次はひどい頭痛です。またベットから動けず一日を過ごします。最終的
